NPI offer an anodising service to all types of manufacturing companies working with aluminium and aluminium components.
The metal is immersed into an acid electrolyte bath before an electric current is passed through the bath which creates a highly controlled oxidisation process and the final anodised effect.
Following the anodising process our clients can process the surface with paints or screen printing as required. Selective anodising is commonly requested which allows for an earthling spot or larger area to be free from anodising resulting in an electrically conductive component in certain areas while being electrically insulated in the remainder.

Other anodising processes can be employed to achieve “Aluprint” of component references or branding logos with the background characters are displayed as black, silver or gold. This is a variation of surface printing but achieved by sub-surface processing which makes the markings practically indestructible.
The anodising process is a naturally occurring oxide process so it is non-hazardous and produces no harmful or dangerous by-products.
NPI employ a range of anodising processes - Sulphuric Acid Anodising, Hard Anodising and Chromic Acid Anodising.
Anodising is the name given to techniques of treating the surface of metals to form oxide coverings to improve the performance of the surface. Anodising improves resistance to corrosion and wear, and offers a decorative finish with better adhesion for primers, paints and glues than bare metal does.
The anodised structure is much more durable than simply painting the surface – its fully integrated within the underlying metal substrate so it won’t chip or peel.
NPI Solutions are based in Irvine in Scotland and offer our Anodising service to clients from across the United Kingdom, Europe and the rest of the world. Whether you are nearby or further away we'd be delighted to discuss your projects and see if we can help you.
